“How to treat Coronavirus” is a topic that almost people all over the world pay attention to. So does everyone know how to treat Coronavirus?
As you know, there is currently a virus that confuses the whole world. It is the COVID-19 disease caused by the new Corona virus (SARS-CoV-2). Currently, the epidemic has spread to more than 90 countries and territories. The total number of deaths has been increasing to 3,491 and the total number of infections jumping to 102,169. Faced with a rapidly growing and complicated epidemic, people feel worried about the information spreading on the Internet. The reason is that the internet is growing and there is too much mixed information. And it is hard for people to filter out reliable information. Therefore, I wrote this blog. Coronavirus 2019 (2019-nCoV) is a new respiratory virus that causes acute respiratory infections in humans and shows a human-to-human spread. The virus was identified in an outbreak investigation. It originated from a large market specializing in seafood and animal sales in Wuhan, Hubei Province, China.
Health agencies and health partners are working hard to identify the origin of 2019-nCoV. The corona virus is a betacoronavirus, like MERS and SAR, all derived from host species from bats. The corona virus is a large family of viruses, common in many different animals including camels, cats and bats. SARS, another coronavirus that appears to infect humans, originates in civets, while MERS, another coronavirus that infects humans, originates in camels.
With just a few facts that show us that Coronavirus is very complex!
Neither SARS nor MERS developed into pandemics, but we have seen the situation change rapidly with COVID-19 and the WHO has recently declared a so-called public health emergencies of international concern (PHEIC). This means that experts from around the world work together to identify outbreaks, share virus knowledge and inform each other about treatment. For the outbreak to develop into a pandemic, it must be a virus that spreads easily from person to person, across all regions around the world. We are getting closer to this point with the current situation.
Mechanism of infection
This section you should also learn carefully offline! It is also important information.
After entering the pharynx area, the virus invades the cells and multiplies, from one virus produces hundreds. When grown large enough in number and structure, they break down the cell to spread out. And each one tries to get inside a new cell. Just like that, the development cycle is repeated many times. Then deeper and deeper into the body. This is called the incubation period.
At some point, depending on the health of each person, a sufficiently large number of viruses will disrupt the human defense mechanism. Then Coronavirus will spread. This is the onset of the epidemic.
Thus, during the incubation period, the person carrying the virus has no symptoms so others cannot know. Therefore, they have the ability to silently spread the virus to others.
How do you feel? It seems that this information is not enough, read on!
How is 2019-ncov spread?
This virus originated from animal sources but was able to spread from person to person. It is important to note that the spread from person to person can occur continuously.
To humans, the virus spreads from person to person through contact with infected bodily fluids. Depending on the spread of the virus, coughing, sneezing, or shaking hands, the risk of infection can increase very quickly.
The virus can also be spread by touching someone on an object, then on their mouth, nose, and eyes. Caregivers may also become infected with the virus by disposing of patient waste.
This is the information you need to know to avoid! Really, everyone needs the knowledge to protect themselves in the midst of complicated developments of Coronavirus.
According to reports, when infected will include symptoms: fever, cough and shortness of breath. These symptoms can appear 2 to 14 days after exposure. By the onset, nCOV can develop to severe pneumonia, progressive respiratory failure and death.
Signs when you have this epidemic are the things to look out for. Must monitor the body to make sure you are healthy and do not miss the treatment!
Surely in this moment, any news will confuse you. Can your pet become infected with Coronavirus and then infect us?
At present, there is no evidence that companion animals/pets such as dogs or cats can be infected with Coronavirus. However, it is always a good idea to wash your hands with soap and water after contact with pets. This protects you against various common bacteria. It may include some such as E.coli and Salmonella that can pass between pets and humans.
One of the first questions asked when an infectious disease pandemic is looming is: “Is there a vaccine for this?” The short answer is “no”. But the longer answer is that the world has never been more geared up to develop vaccines against emerging infectious diseases than it is today.
Studies have suggested that Coronavirus vaccines carry the risk of what is known as vaccine enhancement, where instead of protecting against infection, the vaccine can actually make the disease worse when a vaccinated person is infected with the virus. The mechanism that causes that risk is not fully understood and is one of the stumbling blocks that has prevented the successful development of a coronavirus vaccine.
If, as seems quite possible, the Covid-19 virus becomes a permanent part of the world’s microbial menagerie rather than being eradicated like the earlier SARS coronavirus, next-gen approaches will be needed to address shortcomings of even the most cutting-edge vaccines: They take years to develop and manufacture, they become obsolete if the virus evolves, and the immune response they produce is often weak.
Covid-19 has mutated into two strains, one which appears to be far more aggressive, scientists have said, in a discovery which could hinder attempts to develop a vaccine.
Experts suggest that while Covid-19’s mutation makes it more difficult to develop a vaccine, a vaccine is still possible.
People and communities to well implement the following measures:
- Limit direct contact with people with acute respiratory infections. When necessary contact with sick people must wear a proper medical mask and keep a distance when exposed.
- Keep your body warm, keep personal clean, wash your hands often with soap, gargle with antiseptic water to prevent pneumonia.
- Cover your mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing. Preferably, cover them with a cloth or a handkerchief to reduce the spread of respiratory secretions.
- Limit close contact with animal or wildlife farms.
- Need to immediately to the nearest medical facility for timely consultation, examination and treatment if there are signs of disease. We should pay attention to the following cases: contact with people returning from Wuhan City, Hubei Province, China. Besides, the cases have close contact with a person with pneumonia in Wuhan City within 14 days.
Those are the recommendations of the Vietnam Ministry of Health. Although there is no specific vaccine yet, we are still aware of how to treat Coronavirus. By the way, I want to share with you what I have summarized. This is the information that you need to pay attention.
I spent a lot of time on synthesizing the information below. I think such a clear list will make it easy for you to remember.
1. Wearing a mask anytime, anywhere, especially in public:
According to experts, wearing a mask can not prevent 100% of the epidemic but is the basic, simple and easiest way to avoid corona virus. “Masks cannot stop 100% of viruses of very small size, but they help prevent the habit that we put our hands that can carry germs to our nose, mouth and eyes-the basic pathways for viruses to enter our bodies ”
2. Wash your hands often:
In addition to wearing a mask, everyone needs to follow other safety measures such as washing hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds; people need to bring dry hand wash, antiseptic water for regular use. In addition, people should refrain from using public goods.
3. Avoid rubbing your eyes, nose and mouth:
Corona virus is spread rapidly through droplets. Therefore, experts recommend that people avoid rubbing their eyes, nose, and mouth to the maximum.
4. Avoid contact with sick people:
Corona is a group A communicable disease. It is a global emergency risk and spreads from person to person. Therefore, people need maximum isolation from patients to protect their health.
5. Enhance vitamin C supplementation to increase resistance:
Vitamin C is an effective anti-influenza agent, can shorten the time the body catches cold and prevents illness. Oranges, grapefruit, kiwi, tangerines … are fruits that contain high levels of vitamin C, contributing to the improvement of the immune system. Therefore, experts advise people to regularly drink juice to enhance their resistance during the epidemic season.
6. Gargle with specialized water, eye drops with physiological saline Natri Clorid 0.9%
I also gathered doctor’s notes about mouthwash:
a. Try to get the mouthwash solution down to the deepest part of the throat you can handle.
b. Do not need too much in one rinse, about 5 ml is sufficient. If more, it will be difficult to bring the solution down to the throat.
c. Each time about 2 minutes, including three times down the throat, each time about 15 seconds. After finishing, leave, not rinsing mouth with water.
d. Rinse your throat before going out and as soon as you come home (or as soon as you have close contact with others). If on the plane, you should rinse every 3 hours (with chlohexidin) or immediately after eating.
e. In epidemic areas, rinse periodically according to the time of effect of each solution.
f. Don’t be subjective to thinking that this last stop replaces other measures. Since the effectiveness of disease prevention is the comprehensive coordination of all measures.
7. People should be careful not to go out at this time:
People with chronic respiratory disease or diabetes, postoperative infections and who with weak health, poor resistance.
8. Limit gatherings in crowded places
9. The better the body’s immune system, the better it can cope with the disease.
Up to now, there have been no specific reports on viruses and drugs, so it needs to boost immunity.
10. Incubation period:
It is understood that the incubation period is the period from when a virus is infected until the onset of symptoms. The estimated incubation period for pneumonia is about 14 days.
11. Symptoms of patients with nCoV
From mild to severe include: fever, cough and shortness of breath. These symptoms can appear 2 to 14 days after exposure. Onset, nCoV causes fever and may damage respiratory tract. Severe cases, causing pneumonia, progressive acute respiratory failure, even death, especially in cases of chronic diseases, immunodeficiency.
12. Do not use antibiotics as a preventive measure or treatment.
Antibiotics do not kill viruses and only work on bacterial infections. The new strain of corona virus is virus. Therefore, we can not use antibiotics as a preventive measure or treatment.
13. There are 2 ways that this virus spreads:
One is a shot of droplet, shot directly from the sick to the contact. The ability to spread depends on where the droplet is, here is about 2 meters away. Above 2 meters, you can avoid.
The second type is in the air. The size and weight of some viruses are very light. Then it can float in the air when you cough, and can be blown from place to place by the wind. Therefore the possibility of further infection, a wider radius. We need to understand these two types.
